THE MODERN ALARM MONITOR SECURITY SYSTEM

The alarm monitor security system that I was looking at had nothing to do with fire and burglary alarm systems. It was a semi-automatic expert system developed by Honeywell in 1985, a prototype for remote intelligence support. Twenty-one years later their expertise in national defense has been applied to reducing the danger caused by fire, smoke, chemical, biological and radiological agents within large business buildings and homes. These computerized marvels are trained to care for their respective building or home. Furthermore, they learn as their environment changes, predict the necessary course of action to take and discern between actual threat or false alarm.

LIVES SAVED BY THE MODERN ALARM MONITOR SECURITY SYSTEM

The alarm monitor security systems installed in large business buildings today could have saved hundreds of peoples lives had they been installed within the World Trade Towers . The new intelligent alarm security system is a sophisticated series of computers linked to provide a real time analysis of building security. They are connected to thousands of remote sensors, which can discern the exact temperature of the floor, or room in which they are located, the quality of the air and whether there is a toxin present. They are capable of predicting where and how fast a fire will spread. The level of prediction allows the computer to show the building occupants the safest evacuation route within the building. It consistently monitors the route and makes changes as necessary. These directions are given through a building intranet connecting to individual office computers, a dedicated emergency cellular link which can be monitored by individual cell phones, the building speaker system and a visual direction panel system. These emergency facts can be shared with other alarm system computers within the building and with the appropriated emergency reaction personnel through a cellular link in case fiber optic and wire are disabled. All of these systems have redundant communication links including AM/FM/SW radio.

CONFIDENCE IN THE NEW ALARM MONITOR SECURITY SYSTEM

These new alarm monitoring security systems can diagnose the presence of dangerous chemicals and gases through specialized sensors. These are spectrographic analyzers which can, through fiber optic connection determine if a gas is carbon monoxide, a nerve agent or methane gas. Other sensors used in radiological and medical laboratories can locate and determine the dosage of radioactive materials. The number and location of people within large skyscrapers can be pinpointed by means of the closed circuit television system, sonic, infrared, cw radar and air pressure devices. This critical information can be passed to emergency personnel for their rescue. These systems are built to take the intense heat, crushing pressures from building structural damage, intense pressure from explosions and have armored power sources. I mentioned earlier about Honeywell's venture into expert systems and I bring it up now to emphasize my confidence in their research, quality and expertise. This same company enables the United States of America to be able to spot the launch of any ICBM from 300 miles in space and target its launch pad within a foot. They are certainly capable of providing an expert alarm monitoring security system, which gives skyscrapers a chance of surviving.
