PERSONAL ALARMS

Today personal security has increased in importance because the threat of personal violence has increased. This is from individuals believing that they have the right to take the law into their own hands. It is from the increase in organized crime, gang drug syndicates, internal and foreign terrorist attack. Members of your family can become targets of kidnapping, assassination, drive by shooting and physical assault. Additional protection offered through personal alarms is worth consideration in today's dangerous environment.

These personal alarms are somewhat similar to the personal medical alarms used to care for retired and invalid people. They have a wristwatch or pendant type emergency transceiver but are more sophisticated in that they are self-contained transceivers. Using the same technology as cell phones, personal safety alarms provide a means to talk with either security personnel or the police. Additional sensors involve a miniaturized camera, which can give surrounding surveillance. Security increases demonstrably with personal protection alarms and when it is tied into a private detective or protection agency. Personal security increases almost a thousand times whenever you have a personal bodyguard who is also equipped with a personal surveillance/alarm system. The logic is simple, whenever personal alarms are tied into an intelligence center such as the police or a detective agency; the protected persons have the advantage of an advanced warning.

The community, in which an individual lives, provides most of the protection he or she will ever need. An exception is when an outside force or element, which is hostile to the community, invades. All vigilance is necessary for the survival of the community. It becomes a one for all, and all for one situation. It may be rerouting that trip to the grocery store to some other time and to a different part of town. Our normal routines may need to be changed where they cannot be predicted by enemies. Those we talk with will be only those that we trust explicitly. Finally, our conversation will only be when it is operationally necessary. Vigilance is a virtue, which should be practiced at all times. There should never be a circumstance like 9/11 in our individual or national lives again. Nobody in the world should ever neglect his or her safety or the requirement for self-protection. Through current information, the individual can avoid personal harm or injury through avoidance.

Remember, if someone looks dangerous or threatening, he or she very well may be so. Trust your senses. If a situation starts, contact your nearest police or detective agency and report those circumstances. Request assistance if the situation becomes worse. Seek a public area such as a drug store or a grocery store and request assistance from a manager or authority figure. Remain in contact through your personal alarm system and relay all information. Transmit photographs as required. Remain calm and plan a means of escape of which you are confident. Communicate your location to the authorities and your family constantly. Last, remember that the right to self-defense is never to be denied.
