THE MODERN WIRELESS DRIVEWAY ALARM

The modern driveway can be defended with a host of reliable and relatively inexpensive wireless driveway alarms. The Optex Wireless Visitor Announcement System is one of the most popular alarms and is cellular in nature. It is relatively uncomplicated and easy to install and use. The infrared sensor is installed at the entry post at the estate's front gate. Inside the home, a cell phone receiver is used to approve or deny entry. Another wireless driveway alarm and anti-intrusion device is the RWA-300R-Reporter Wireless Motion Alert System. This is a compact ground surveillance radar that reports vehicle or individual movement up to 1200 feet. These combined can provide a complete defensive coverage of an average home cheaply.

WMA-3000-Dakota Wireless Motion Drive Alert 3000 uses photoelectric beams to alert you when a car or person passes the front gate, It has a talk through transceiver when can be used to allow or deny access. It also uses additional sensors along the drive to report on vehicle or individual entry. Infrared motion detectors are also used in the Voice Alert System-6 Wireless Annunciator and the Reporter Wireless Motion with Voice Communication

An older method of wireless detection is found in the WRS-3000 Wireless Rubber Hose Drive Alert 3000. This system is a combination of both old and new technology. A pressure sensor is buried or laid across the driveway. The sensor box has a 9-volt battery to power the transmitter. It communicates with the receiver a distinct ring. Two models, the MURS Alert Long Range System and the MURS Alert Long Range Handheld System are primarily designed for security guards or for sales persons who are expected or who pass through the drive on a regular basis. This is primarily a communication system rather than a detection sensor, even though it does detect movement through infrared.

All of these systems provide detection and alert to the movement of vehicles or individuals. Their effectiveness can be improved with the inclusion of visual detection systems and the Voice Alert System-6 Wireless Annunciator. If the driveway has a gate then an additional keyless lock or a biometric lock sensitive to the actual fingerprint of accepted individuals should be installed to control access. Additional mass detectors should be deployed along the drive to provide surveillance tied into the external property sensors. These modern systems can be tied into an intelligent computer system, which can learn the normal visitors to the estate. It can determine if an individual presence is authorized or not. Communication links from the computer or the monitoring agency can use three different means to contact assistance. They can use fiber optic networking to provide live surveillance of the home and grounds, DSL router connection through the cable company to the security agency and traditional telephone wire line. Some of the entry control systems are truly smart devices. The use of the biometric lock utilizes both the individual fingerprint and body temperature to allow entry. This provides specific information about your guest and perhaps adds a measure of warmth.
